SeoulHomes works with AI agents in your browser

SeoulHomes supports WebMCP, a new web standard. It gives an AI agent built into your browser a few clear tools for this site, so it doesn't have to guess which buttons to click.

What an AI agent can do here

  • search_propertiesEvery page

    Search listings by area, price, size, rooms and type, for monthly rent, jeonse or sale.

  • get_current_propertyListing pages

    Read the full details of the listing you are looking at.

  • save_current_propertyListing pages

    Save the listing you are looking at, or remove it from your saved list.

  • fill_inquiry_formListing pages

    Fill in the message to the listing's realtor. It never sends it: you read it and press Send.

Try it

Run the search tool the way an AI agent would, asking for officetels for monthly rent in Gangnam. This works in any browser.

search_properties({"district":"gangnam","listing_type":"rent","type":"officetel","limit":3})

How to turn it on

  1. Use Chrome on a computer. WebMCP is still being tested, so it is off by default.
  2. Open chrome://flags, turn on “WebMCP for testing” and relaunch Chrome.
  3. Open an AI agent in Chrome (or the Model Context Tool Inspector extension) on this site and ask it to find you a home.

Browsers are still testing WebMCP and flag names change between versions. If a step doesn't match your screen, search chrome://flags for WebMCP.

For developers

Each page registers its tools with document.modelContext. This is the search tool, shortened:

const controller = new AbortController();

document.modelContext.registerTool({
  name: "search_properties",
  description: "Search rental and sale listings on SeoulHomes…",
  inputSchema: {
    type: "object",
    properties: {
      district: { type: "string" },
      listing_type: { type: "string", enum: ["rent", "jeonse", "sale"] },
      max_price: { type: "number" },
    },
  },
  annotations: { readOnlyHint: true, untrustedContentHint: true },
  async execute(input, { signal }) {
    const params = new URLSearchParams(input);
    const res = await fetch("/api/agents/properties?" + params, { signal });
    return JSON.stringify(await res.json());
  },
}, { signal: controller.signal }); // abort() removes the tool

Questions

What is WebMCP?

WebMCP is a draft web standard from the W3C Web Machine Learning group. A web page lists tools, each with a name, a description and the inputs it takes, and an AI agent in the browser calls them.

How is it different from MCP?

MCP connects an AI app such as Claude or ChatGPT to our server. WebMCP works inside the page you have open, so the AI agent uses your own session: your language and your saved listings.

Can the AI agent message a realtor for me?

No. It can fill in the form, but only you can send it, by pressing Send.

Do I need an account?

No. Searching, reading and saving work without one. Listings you save without an account stay on this device and move into your account when you log in.

Is WebMCP on in my browser?

Only if you turned it on. The box at the top of this page checks for you.
