Need a translation notarized?

Korean notarial offices distinguish between 번역문 인증 (translation certification — confirms a translation matches its source) and 서명공증 (signature certification — confirms a person signed a document, used for POAs, consents, and declarations). Requesting the wrong one is a common, costly mistake: a translation-certification request on a signed instrument like a power of attorney can be rejected outright, or accepted here and rejected by the receiving country.

Who needs this

How it works

1. Tell us which document needs notarizing and its purpose — we confirm which certification type actually applies.
2. We prepare the Korean-language filing and act as your authorized notarial agent — you typically don't need to appear in person for translation certification (the translator must personally attend, which we handle).
3. You receive the notarized document, apostilled afterward if needed.

Typical timeline

Notarial filings are usually completed within a few business days once the underlying translation is finalized and we've confirmed the correct certification type — the main variable is how quickly the notary office can process the filing, not the paperwork itself.

Common mistakes

• Requesting translation certification for a document that's actually a signed instrument (like a POA), which needs signature certification instead
• Assuming a notarization done abroad will be recognized by a Korean institution, or vice versa
• Skipping notarization on a private document that later needs an apostille — apostille offices generally require notarization first
