Sending your child abroad without both parents?

When a minor travels to Spain or Latin America alone, or with only one parent, a relative, or another adult, most countries require documented parental consent — and the exact certification method depends on the destination.

Short trips (no visa required)

We draft a 부모여행동의서 (parental travel consent letter) in Spanish authorizing the trip, you sign it by hand, and we attach a 사실확인증명서. We also translate your family relation certificate into Spanish with a 번역확인증명서, confirming the signer is the traveling minor's parent. Bring both documents plus a copy of the parent's passport.

Country-specific exceptions: some countries require notarial signature certification (서명공증) instead of our administrative-agent certificate — Chile's foreign ministry guidance, for example, specifies "Autorización notarial" when both parents aren't traveling together. Argentina requires its own travel authorization form notarized at the Argentine Embassy. We confirm your destination's specific requirement before drafting.

Longer stays (study abroad, visa required)

A 체류허가서 (stay permission letter) needs an apostille on top of the consent letter, adding a step: draft in Spanish, hand-sign, get a 서명공증 (notary signature certification — agents can request this, though some notary offices decline a POA-holder's signature certification, so we recommend appearing in person where possible), then apostille at the Gwanghwamun overseas Koreans center.
