An apostille makes a Korean document legally valid in Spain, most of Latin America, and every other Hague Apostille Convention member country. Public documents (government-issued) can be apostilled directly; private documents (POAs, declarations, notarized translations) must be notarized first.
Documents we apostille
- Criminal background checks, diplomas, and academic transcripts
- Notarized translations, powers of attorney, and declarations
- Family relation and no-impediment certificates
- Pet vaccination and health certificates (after notarization)
Who needs this
Anyone submitting a Korean-issued document to a government office, university, employer, bank, or civil registry in Spain or Latin America — visa applicants, students, people getting married abroad, employees relocating for work, and pet owners traveling internationally. If the destination country is a Hague Convention member, an apostille is generally the required legalization step, replacing the older embassy/consular legalization process.
How it works
- Confirm the document is public, or already notarized if it's a private document.
- We file the apostille request at the overseas Koreans support center (재외동포청) in Gwanghwamun/Jongno, in person, by mail, or as your filing agent.
- You receive the apostilled document, ready to submit abroad.
An apostille on a notarized (private) document cannot be issued online — it must be filed in person, by mail, through someone visiting on your behalf, or through an agent like us.
Typical timeline
Apostille filing through an agent generally takes about 1–2 business days once the underlying document (and notarization, if required) is ready — public documents that skip notarization tend to move fastest, while private documents that need notarization first add that step's time on top.
Common mistakes
- Trying to apostille a private document (a notarized translation, a POA) before it's been notarized
- Assuming every document type can be apostilled online — private-document apostilles cannot
- Getting the sequence backwards between translation, notarization, and apostille — the correct order depends on the destination and receiving institution
Pricing
₩198,000 (VAT included) for the apostille filing; translation and notarial certification of the same document are billed separately if needed first.

Get in touch about thisFrequently Asked Questions
Does the apostille price include translation?
No — ₩198,000 covers the apostille filing itself. Translation and notarization are quoted and billed separately if your document needs them first.
Can I get an apostille for a notarized document online?
No — apostilles for notarized (private) documents must be filed in person, by mail, through a visiting family member/friend, or through an agent. Only certain public-document apostilles are available online.
In what order should translation and apostille happen?
It depends on the destination country, receiving institution, and document type — we confirm the correct order for your specific case before starting.
